As part of a Document Design course, we were tasked with redesigning a cluttered and disorganized handbook for a fictitious university’s Intramural Sports Program. This project required applying advanced information architecture techniques, including card sorting, to create a clear, accessible, and visually engaging guide for college students.

I reorganized the content using top-level labels from the card sort process, establishing a logical structure that improved information flow. After typesetting the document, I designed a layout aligned with the university’s branding and enhanced usability with an interactive table of contents, wayfinding aids, and a user-friendly hierarchy.

This experiential project refined my skills in content organization, design, and user-focused problem-solving. While the final document met the project’s objectives and showcased thoughtful design, it also served as a foundation for future improvements in my design deliverables.
